The Reconditioning Process
Getting an APC UPS refurbished, on the other hand, costs just a little more than replacing the battery, and we do much, much more. Our techs perform over thirty “checks” and reconfigurations to ensure each refurbished UPS that leaves our warehouse is in peak condition, including:
Replace the Battery
Each unit is replaced with a battery (RBC) that is approved by APC standards
Reset Voltage References
This tells the unit when to go into battery mode. The reason we check the voltage is because that it’s necessary to perform a self-test on the unit.
Reset the Constants
The battery constants give the battery status via their life expectancy. If the battery ages and is ‘exhausted’, the constant is overwritten.
Correct Calibration For Charging Circuit
The UPS switches to DC battery power and then inverts it to AC power to run connected equipment.
Load unit to 100%
Cut input power to insure load stays up and waveform is stable
Clean Entire Unit
Last but not least the we clean the entire unit to make it look like new.
